Getting Ready for 3D Networks
and New Space
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Conference Organizing Committee, it
is my pleasure to invite you to EuCAP 2027, Europe’s flagship conference on
antennas and propagation, which will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from 18th
to 23rd April 2027.
We are specially delighted to welcome the EuCAP
community to Düsseldorf. EuCAP was originally planned to be held in this
vibrant city in 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it had to be transformed
into an online event. This makes it all the more meaningful to now have the
opportunity to finally meet in person in Düsseldorf.
Europe has a strong and well-established antennas and propagation community across both academia and industry. At
the same time, we are witnessing many exciting and promising developments in
this field. The momentum is reflected in the motto of the conference: “Getting
Ready for 3D Networks and New Space.”
Düsseldorf is the capital of the federal state of
North Rhine-Westphalia and it is located in the heart of the Rhine-Ruhr region,
the largest metropolitan area in Germany. Within a radius of just 100 km, the
region is home to five universities of technology and ten universities of applied
sciences actively engaged in antennas and propagation research.
The city is also an emerging hub for entrepreneurship,
innovation and technology. Düsseldorf and the Rhine-Ruhr area host major
offices – and in some cases headquarters – of numerous cellular network
operators and telecommunications equipment vendors. These organizations, play a
key role in the deployment of 5G and the development of 6G technologies. As
such, Düsseldorf will provide a unique setting to further strengthen the link between
the scientific antennas and propagation community and industry.
At the same time, Düsseldorf is a very attractive city
with an international and open atmosphere. It is regularly ranked among the
cities with the highest quality of life worldwide and is well known for its
lively nightlife, its traditional Altbier culture, and its role as Germany’s
fashion capital. Its historic Altstadt, often described as “the longest bar in
the world”, offers a unique setting with its many cafés, restaurants and breweries.
Together with the Rhine promenade and a wide range of cultural venues, the city
provides many opportunities beyond the technical programme.
We very much look forward to welcoming you for EuCAP
2027 at the Düsseldorf Congress Center, beautifully located on the banks of the
River Rhine.
