- Note that, in terms of author misconduct and plagiarism, the Technical Programme Committee will be guided by the processes and definitions set out in section 8.2.4 of the IEEE Publication Services and Products Board Operations Manual.
- Both plagiarism of other authors and self-plagiarism (i.e. of a paper involving the author himself) are unacceptable. While it is an extremely serious fault to copy other researcher's results, it is also improper to repeatedly publish the same material.
- Please note that all submitted papers will be checked by plagiarism-detection software and the outcome of this check will be available to the meta-reviewer.
- It is accepted that an overview paper in a convened session should not be treated exactly as a standard, non-overview, paper. In particular, the explicit coverage of previously published results (including from authors outside the author's scientific circle) is expected and cannot be treated as plagiarism. Nonetheless an overview paper should be clearly distinct from other survey papers on the same topic.
- In all cases, proper referencing of the original source is mandatory. Any detection of uncited material of significant importance in the paper should be quoted in the reviewer‘s report and may be a cause of rejection.
- As regards self-plagiarism: a small amount of overlap with previous papers by the same author is sometimes unavoidable but should be kept to an absolute minimum. Please consult the IEEE Publication Services and Products Board Operations Manual for more information.
- In addition authors should abide by the guidelines laid out by the recent EU Commission regarding the responsible use of generative AI in research.
