Student Design Contest

The EuCAP 2027 edition is happy to announce its antenna system design competition. Targeting the frequency range between 7.1 and 8.5 GHz, you have to design a dielectric resonator antenna that can be manufactured by 3D printing using specific RF materials.

Please note, that for EuCAP 2027 we have foreseen a Student Design Contest organized in two tracks.

Track 1: Antenna Design (dielectric resonator antenna array)

Track 2: Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) Algorithm

The call published below is for Track 1 only.  A call for Track 2 is foreseen in a separate call, further information will follow soon.

The competition consists of two phases. A qualification phase is taking place before the EuCAP 2027 and will take place until mid December 2026. After this phase, the best teams will be chosen to participate in the final competition. These teams will compete on site in Düsseldorf during EuCAP 2027 to select a winner. Here, samples of the antennas will be manufactured and measured, which will conclude the contest. Winners will be recognized at the closing ceremony. Relevant supporting material for the DRA antenna design can be found following the links below.
