Best Paper Awards

Among all the papers applied for an award or reported by the reviewers, the TPC together with the Award Co-Chairs will compile a shortlist of papers for each category. As soon as these lists are available, the Award Co-Chairs will nominate, for each thematic domain, an Award Committee of four distinguished professionals in the field, who will assess the shortlisted papers and select 5 finalist papers. Following the procedure described below, the panels will then select the winner paper in each category.

Awards Selection Procedure

The panels will select five finalists in each thematic domain of the EuCAP 2027 Best Paper Awards and five finalists for the EuCAP 2027 Best Student Paper Award based on two criteria:

• The reviewers score and their recommendations for the initially submitted paper.
  
• The quality of the final paper.

In this selection, the main criterion will be technical excellence. Other evaluation criteria are originality and innovation, significance to the antennas and propagation community, potential impact, and clarity of presentation.

All awards will be distributed during the closing ceremony on Friday, April 23, 2027.

Rules

1. The Technical Programme Committee, together with the Award Co-Chairs, compiles shortlists from papers whose authors apply for an award or that are recommended by reviewers.
2. For each thematic award category, the Award Co-Chairs appoint an Award Committee composed of four distinguished experts. Each committee assesses the shortlisted papers and selects five finalist papers.
3. The finalist papers are evaluated based on the reviewers’ scores and recommendations for the initially submitted papers, as well as the quality of the final papers.
4. The finalists are invited to participate in dedicated Award poster sessions, in addition to their regular oral or poster presentations.
5. The final ranking is determined by the respective expert Award Committee. Technical excellence is the primary criterion. Additional criteria include originality and innovation, significance to the antennas and propagation community, potential impact, and clarity of presentation.
6. In each award category, the highest-ranked paper receives the Best Paper Award. The second- and third-ranked papers receive Runner-up certificates.
7. The Chairs of the Awards Committee are not eligible for nomination in any EuCAP Paper Award category, including the Best Student Paper Award. A Category Chair is not eligible for nomination in the award category for which they are responsible.
8. Any Chair or committee member who has an actual or perceived conflict of interest with a candidate or paper must declare the conflict and take no part in the shortlisting, evaluation, discussion, ranking, or final decision concerning that candidate or paper. The candidate or paper remains eligible and is evaluated independently by the remaining committee members.
9. For the Best Student Paper Award, the candidate must: be a student at the paper submission deadline; be the first author and have made the major contribution to the work; submit a paper with no more than five authors; be registered for EuCAP 2027; present the paper in person; and attend the Closing Ceremony.
10. Each paper may apply for one award category only. A paper may be submitted either for one of the thematic Best Paper Awards or for the Best Student Paper Award, but not for both.
